Ty-pology is an award-winning, Black woman-owned editorial agency specializing in grant writing, copywriting, and copy editing. Founded in 2020, our ideas are many and our expertise is broad.

We’ve helped secure federal and foundation grants, written and edited e-books, and clarified narratives for careers, graduate and professional school through personal statements and cover letters.

Meet the Founder

Tyra A. Seals is a nonprofit philanthropy professional currently serving as Major Gifts Officer for the National Abortion Federation. There, she creates and sustains relationships with donors nationwide who are passionate about expanding abortion access and reproductive autonomy for all people, everywhere.

Before arriving at NAF, Tyra was an Associate Director of Development for The Nature Conservancy where she cultivated, solicited, and stewarded gifts between $25,000 and $2M in a combination of outright, non-cash assets, and planned giving.

A fourth-generation Atlantan, Tyra demonstrates her knowledge of and commitment to uplifting the city’s many diverse communities by serving as Chair of the Internal Affairs Committee for the DeKalb Library Foundation and Co-Chair for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Greater Atlanta Chapter's Diversity Fellowship.

Tyra is dedicated to using her formal training in English at Spelman College and love of language to help brands and organizations reach their full potential. She founded her editorial agency Ty-pology in August 2020 to help accomplish this goal. Outside of work time, Tyra enjoys hot pilates, baking, and listening to audiobooks.
